Radicalisation and extremism
We're about to explore how Mark and Louise were radicalised by extremists. Before we begin, let's look at what both of these words mean.
Extremists believe things that are far from the 'norm' and they refuse to listen to other's views.
Extremists often want to make things happen using criminal acts and violence, or by encouraging hatred and divisions.
Radicalisation is the way in which extremists get other people to join them.
Radicalisation leads to people believing extreme views and that crime and violence is the right way to support a cause.
